Tips To Ready Your Home For The Holidays

By Carolyn | December 02, 2020

Let’s end 2020 on a high note!

December is one of our favorite months. It’s the time to spread joy and celebrate holidays with close family and friends.

One of the services that we offer is helping people with their household holiday decorations. This includes arranging for outdoor lights, buying Christmas trees, setting up wreaths, and even gift-wrapping. We want our clients to feel energized – not burdened – during this festive season.

In the spirit of the holidays, we’ve curated some helpful links and ideas as you consider getting your household ready for Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, and any other holiday that you celebrate.

DIY Projects

Decorating for the holidays does not always mean buying more stuff and adding clutter! Tap into your creativity and use what you already own to add some cheer to your house. This Pinterest board has some incredible ideas for DIY holiday decor. Take inventory of your garage and kitchen junk drawer (we all have one!) and get those creative juices flowing.

Involve Your Kids

We’re all going to be spending more time at home these holidays, and most parents want to limit their kids’ screen time. Put your kiddos to work with some fun crafts projects to encourage their creativity and keep them busy. Here is a Pinterest board with some great holiday crafts ideas for children.

Smells Like The Holidays

The sights and sounds of the holidays are unforgettable. But don’t forget about the smells. Baked goods can spread a festive fragrance. Also, check out this extensive list of candle scents. If you have a fake Christmas tree but you still want the smell of a fresh evergreen, there are options for you, too.

Seek Inspiration

Looking for new ideas? Searching for family holiday activities? Get in your car and attend one of the drive-in lights shows around Austin. Here’s an extensive list of the best holiday lights displays. We’ve also heard good things about Peppermint Parkway at Circuit of the Americas, and here’s a list of Hill Country towns with amazing light displays.

Away From Home

If you’re heading out of town and want to offload the set-up and take-down of your holiday decorations, let us know. We can also assist with mail pick-up and other household check-in duties to give you peace of mind while you’re away.
